diwana shudam dar aarzuyat
dīvāna shudam dar ārzūyat
ai chashm-e-hama-jahāñ ba-sūyat
I have gone mad in longing for you,
All the gazes of the world are fixed upon you.
mā.em-o-tahayyur-o-ḳhamoshī
va āfāq hama ba-guft-o-goyat
Here I stand, with wonder and silence,
Your name alone is on every tongue in the world.
vai rū-e-tū dīdan-o-na-murdam
sharminda ba-mānda.am ze rūyat
Yesterday I beheld your face, yet could not die,
For this I am deeply ashamed before you.
pursī ki che-gūna ze man duur
duur az tū che pursem chū mūyat
You ask how I fare, living far from you—
Why ask of distance? I am but like your tresses.
'ḳhusrau' ba-kamand-e-tū asīrast
be-chāra kujā ravad ze kūyat
Khusrau is a captive of your snares,
Poor soul—where could he go, away from your street?
diwana shudam dar aarzuyat
ai chashm-e-hama-jahan ba-suyat
I have gone mad in longing for you,
All the gazes of the world are fixed upon you.
maem-o-tahayyur-o-KHamoshi
wa aafaq hama ba-guft-o-goyat
Here I stand, with wonder and silence,
Your name alone is on every tongue in the world.
wai ru-e-tu didan-o-na-murdam
sharminda ba-mandam ze ruyat
Yesterday I beheld your face, yet could not die,
For this I am deeply ashamed before you.
pursi ki che-guna ze man dur
dur az tu che pursem chu muyat
You ask how I fare, living far from you—
Why ask of distance? I am but like your tresses.
'KHusrau' ba-kamand-e-tu asirast
be-chaara kuja rawad ze kuyat
Khusrau is a captive of your snares,
Poor soul—where could he go, away from your street?
