    ārām-rubā-e-but-e-sar-e-mast-ḳhumāre

The Beloved possesses dark eyes, a magical gaze, and is the one who steals hearts. The Beloved is an intoxicated idol, utterly swooning, and the thief of every heart's peace.

    be-dād-gare kaj-ravishe turfa-adā.e

    ātish-figane māh-vashe lāla-izāre

The Beloved is one who inflicts cruelty, possessing a unique and graceful, yet swaggering, gait, and a distinctive manner. The Beloved has a moon-like face, eyes that flash like fire, and cheeks like a crimson tulip.

    tāza-chamane gul-badane kabk-ḳhirāme

    āhū-nazare fitna-sare rashk-e-bahāre

The body is as delicate as a fresh garden bloom, and the Beloved walks with the proud gait of a partridge. The Beloved has the eyes of a deer, is a source of great mischief, and is the envy of Spring itself.

    zohra-sifate sham.a-e-ruḳhe naġhma-sarā.e

    tannāz-javāne saname-nukta-guzāre

The Beloved is Venus-like (in beauty), the face is a shining candle, and the Beloved is a singer of melodies. The Beloved is a mischievous one who constantly finds fault or points out nuances in every conversation.

pursīd chu 'ashraf' ki tuī ḳhalq-farebe

    az rāh-e-tabaḳhtur-suḳhane guft ki aare

When Ashraf asked, Do you truly deceive people? The Beloved merely smiled with a proud, coy air and said simply, Yes.
