MORE BYAhmad Shahjahanpuri

ḳhush aañ shaidā ki shaidā-e-tū bāshad

ḳhush aañ rusvā ki rusvā-e-tū bāshad

Blessed is the lover who is yours,

And blessed is the wretched one who is disgraced for your sake.

ḳhush aañ jaane ki mehr-e-tust dar vai

ḳhush aañ dil kandarū jā-e-tū bāshad

    Blessed is the soul that is enraptured by your love, or within which your love resides;

And blessed is the heart that serves as your dwelling-place.

ḳhush aañ siina ḳhush aañ sar kandarūnash

    ze-ishq-o-soz-o-saudā-e-tū bāshad

Blessed are the breast and the brow wherein your secrets lie concealed,

And blessed is the being that is filled with your love, your pain, your melody and your madness.

    malā.ek sajda mī-ārand kāñ-jā

    nishāne az kaf-e-pā-e-tū bāshad

    The angels prostrate themselves,

Wherever the imprint of your feet may rest.

    ba-gīr 'ahmad' dar-e-pīr-e-ḳharābāt

    ki aañ maljā-o-māvā-e-tū bāshad

Lead Ahmad to the Pir of the Tavern,

For there alone lies his refuge and his peace.
