man chu ba jaanan rasai yaftam
man chū bā jānāñ rasā.ī yāftam
qabza bar mulk-e-ḳhudā.ī yāftam
When I attained the love of the beloved,
I seized control over the realm of divinity.
āshiqe būdam kanūñ az vasl-e-yār
ishva-hā-e-dil-rubā.ī yāftam
I was a lover, but due to union with the beloved,
Now I have obtained the bliss of heart captivating.
dil-barā az lutf-o-ehsān-e-shumā
banda.ī būdam ḳhudā.ī yāftam
Oh beloved! Through your kindness and generosity,
Even as a servant, I have attained divinity.
jumla sāmān-e-shahanshāhī nihāñ
dar tah-e-dīn-e-gadā.ī yāftam
I saw the complete essence of kingship
Hidden within the folds of religion.
'ashrafī' sirr-e-nihāñ chuuñ shud ayaañ
az ḳhudī dar ḳhud judā.ī yāftam
Oh Ashrafi, when the hidden secrets were revealed,
I attained freedom from self.
