    mastī-e-man nai ze-jām-e-sāqī-e-mai-ḳhāna ast

kiiñ hama dīvāngī zaañ nargis-e-mastāna ast

My drunkenness is not from the cup of a tavern,

But from the enchantment of those languid, narcissus-like eyes.

    dar havāyat gashta-am fāriġh ze-ḳhud va ze-har-do-kaun

    kāshnā-e-tū ze-ḳhud va ze-do-jahāñ begāna ast

In loving You, I’ve forgotten both self and cosmos,

For Your lover becomes a stranger to the seen and unseen alike.

    mubtalā-e-ishq har husn-e-tū bīnad ayaañ

    gar harīm-e-ka.aba-o-gar-dair-o-gar-but-ḳhāna ast

Each soul consumed by love beholds only Your beauty,

Whether it be in the Kaaba, the shrine, or the temple of idols.

aañ ke shud mast az mai-e-tauhīd mī-bīnad chunīñ

    kaañ sanam ḳhud bāda-o-ḳhud-sāqī-o-paimāna ast

Whoever drinks of the wine of Unity beholds the mystery,

That the Beloved is Himself the wine, the giver, and the glass.

'Auhadī' aañ husn kaz vai do-jahāñ raushan shuda

    jalva-e-kāñ laame az ruḳhsār-e-āñ-jānāna ast

O Auhadi, the beauty that gives light to both worlds,

Is the brilliance that dawns from the Beloved’s face.
