aañ rā ki buvad bahra ai az ’aql-o-kamal
bairūñ ravad az dā.ira-e-fikr-e-muhāl
dar gosha-e-mai-kHāna tamāsha ba-kunad
sham' ast yake hazār fānūs-e-kHayāl
He who is gifted with a little sound wisdom,
Never enters the circle of impossible thinking,
In a corner of the tavern he witnesses ;
There’s a candle surrounded by hundreds of reflections.
