az mardum-e-duniyā buvad andesha base
iiñ gurg-o-palañg and darīñ besha base
mīnā-e-dil az sañg-dilāñ dar ḳhatar ast
andesha buvad hamesha ziiñ shīsha base
It’s better to fear these men-of-the world ;
As in this desert they are wolves and tigers.
The goblet of heart is afraid of stone-hearted ones,
This glass is to be much cared about ( for its delicate
form).
