dar soz-o-gudāz-hā tamāshā kardam
yak-jā na hazār-jā tamāshā kardam
sar rishta-e-raushnī ba-dast-e-digarast
parvāna-o-sham’ rā tamāshā kardam
I witnessed the trials and tribulation of the world
At several places and not at one place only.
The source of light is in the hands of another ;
I saw the attachment between the moth and the candle.
