dil ra ba-KHayal-e-yar KHushnud ba-dar
dil rā ba-ḳhayāl-e-yār ḳhushnūd ba-dār
sar rishta-e-īñ daulat-e-sarmad ba-kaf aar
ganj ast ki ranjish na buvad āḳhir-kār
saudāst ki sūdash buvad afzūñ za shumār
Keep your heart happy in love of the Beloved
And be in possession of an eternal wealth.
It’s a treasure which gives no pain at last ;
It’s a bargain yielding enormous profit.
