dil sirr-e-hayat ra kamahi danist
dil sirr-e-hayāt rā kamāhī dānist
dar maut ham asrār-e-ilāhī dānist
imroz ki bā-ḳhudī na-dānistī hech
fardā ki ze-ḳhud ravī che ḳhvāhī dānist
The heart knew the secrets of life in its true state, in death also it knew the secrets of God; to day when thou art with thyself didst know nothing, tomorrow in Death what shouldst thou expect to know.
