duniya ba-murad-e-kHweshtan KHwahi-o-bas
duniyā ba-murād-e-kHveshtan ḳhvāhī-o-bas
'uqbā tū na kardī za ḳhudāvand havas
chūnast na duniyā-o-na ’uqbā ba-dehand
afsos nadāmat za jahāñ bāyad-o-bas
You wish to have the world to the extent of your desires,
And care not to pray to God for the life hereafter.
Under such a state you will get neither this nor that,
And what you can get from the world, is only remorse.

You wish to have the world to the extent of your desires,
