duniya ma-talab dushman-e-jaan bayad shud
duniyā ma-talab dushman-e-jāñ bāyad shud
dil kHasta-e-īñ bār-e-girāñ bāyad shud
andesha-e-sanjīdan-e-īñ dar kaar ast
mīzān-e-ta.ammul ba-jahāñ bāyad shud
Do not seek for the world, it’s an enemy of the soul ;
It’s a burden which falls heavily on the heart.
It’s necessary one should weigh it carefully
In the balance of one’s own judgment, in this world.
