be-mehrī-e-shān yak digar bisyār ast
az ’aqrab-o-mār hech andesha makun
ziiñ qaum hazar ba-kun ki nesh-o-kHār ast
The lovers of the world who pine for gold
Are much too notorious for their mutual grudge,
Be not afraid of the scorpions and the snakes,
But fear these people who are poison and thorns.
