ehsan-o-karam ze hairat-e-afzun didam
ehsān-o-karam ze hairat-e-afzūñ dīdam
mīzāñ shudam-o-do taraf sanjīdam
pesh āmad-e-kār-e-man nadāmat shuda ast
mā'nī-e-gunāh-o-maġhfirat fahmīdam
I found His mercy and kindness greater than my sins ;
I became the actual balance, both the sides were weighed.
It’s only the remorse that my evil deeds have brought forth
And I understood well what sins and forgiveness mean!
