gar dar talab-e-baada-e-rahat hasti
gar dar talab-e-bāda-e-rāhat hastī
vaz nashsha-e-āzādī-e-duniyā mastī
diiñ ham ba-guzār dāman-e-dost ba-gīr
dar ’ālam-e-mastī za do 'ālam rustī
Whether you have lost yourself in search of wine of pleasure
Or are tipsy with the wine of freedom in the world,
It’s all nothing —Give up all, even the Faith, and hold fast the skirt of the Beloved,
And let it not slip away from your hand as long as you live.
