har kas ba-hawas bagh-e-jahan did-o-guzasht
har kas ba-havas bāġh-e-jahāñ dīd-o-guzasht
kHār-o-gul-e-pazh.murda ba-ham chīd-o-guzasht
iiñ sūrat-e-hastī ki tamāmash mā'nī ast
afsos bar āñ-kas ki na fahmīd-o-guzasht
Every one looked about the world’s garden passionately and passed away
Collected nothing but thorns and faded flowers.
This form of existence which is all Truth,
Woe to him who understood it not and passed away !
