har kas ba-kHayal-e-ust haalash KHub ast
har kas ba-kHayāl-e-ūst hālash ḳhuub ast
ham avval-e-kār-o-ham ma.ālash ḳhuub ast
bisyār ma-band dil ba-duniyā guftam
har chand ki hast e'tidālash ḳhuub ast
The life of him who thinks of God is better ;
His beginning as well as his end is better,
I told you not to attach yourself to the world ;
If you must, then middle course is better.
