hargiz ba-KHuda zuhd-e-riyai na-kunam
hargiz ba-ḳhudā zuhd-e-riyā.ī na-kunam
ġhair az mā'rifat gadā.ī na-kunam
shāhī kunam-o-mulk-e-farāġhat gīram
paivasta za mai-ḳhāna judā.ī na-kunam
By God, I never practice hypocritical asceticism ;
Nor do I beg from any one except the door of Truth.
I am a king and rule the kingdom of Truth
And never do I quit the tavern.
