KHurram dil-e-an kase ki maruf na shud
ḳhurram dil-e-āñ kase ki ma.arūf na shud
dar jubba-o-darā.a-o-dar-sūf na shud
sīmurġh sifat ba-’arsh parvāze kard
dar kunj-e-ḳharāba-e-jahāñ buuf na shud
The man is happy who has no repute (for saintliness), and did not clad himself in the upper coat, cuirass and Sufi's garment (garments of divine devotion); who like the Simurgh (thirty birds representing thirty mystics) flew to the throne of God and did not become an owl in the corner of the ruined places of the world.
