ma ’ashiq-o-ashufta-o-mastem imroz
mā ’āshiq-o-āshufta-o-mastem imroz
dar kū-e-butāñ baada parastem imroz
az hastī-e-ḳhveshtan ba-kullī rusta
paivasta-e-mehrāb-e-alastem imroz
Today we are love stricken, distracted and inebriated, and have yielded to (the craving for the worship of wine in the habitations, of Beauty; we have abandoned our existence entirely, and ever we are under the arch of ALAST (and have to answer the question Am I not thy God on the day of judgement).
