mai quwwat-e-jism-o-quwwat-e-jaanast mara
mai qūvvat-e-jism-o-qūvvat-e-jānast marā
mai kāshif-e-asrār-e-nihānast marā
dīgar talab-e-duniyā-o-’uqbā na kunam
yak jar'a pur-az-har-do-jahānast marā
Wine is the energy of my body and it is the strength of my mind, it is that which unravels all the hidden secrets (of the soul); I seek not this word and that, because one sip (for me) is full (of the pleasures) of this world and the next.
