mumkin na buvad ki yaar aayad ba-kanār
ḳhud rā az kHayāl-e-kHām-o-andesha bar aar
har chiiz ki ġhair-e-ūst dar sīna-e-tust
bisyār hijābīst miyān-e-tū-o-yār
It’s impossible that you can embrace your Beloved ;
Take imperfect and immature idea out of your mind.
The thing besides Him that you keep in heart.
Is a veil between you and the Beloved.
