saaqī ba-baram gar but-e-yāqūt lab ast
dar āb-e-ḳhizr bajā.e āb-e-’nab ast
gar zahra buvad mutrib-o-’īsā hamdam
chuuñ dil na bajā buud na jā-e-tarab asat
Even if a ruby lipped (beauteous) idol is by my side, the elixir of life instead of the (red) wine is in the cup. and Venus discourses (sweet) music and the (life giving) Messiah is my associate, there is no joy in life, if the soul is distracted (with love from thee).

chun dil na baja bud na ja-e-tarab asat
