gham kHurdan behuda kuja darad sud
ġham kHurdan behūda kujā dārad suud
kiiñ charḳh-e-falak base chū mā kusht-o-rubūd
pur kun qadah mī ba-kafam bar na zuud
tā nosh kunam ki buud nehā hama buud
To be depressed and sorrowing for no reason is fruitless, as this revolving sky created and ruined many like us; (O! Saqi) fill the cup of wine and hand it to me speedily, so that I may drink for all those existed have passed away.
