raazī dil-e-dīvāna ba-taqdīr na-shud
fāriġh za kHayāl-o-fikr-e-tadbīr na-shud
ayyām-e-shabāb raft-o-bāqīst havas
mā piir shudem-o-ārzū piir na-shud
My mad heart remained unsatisfied with the lot.
And never rid itself of aspiring ( for more ).
Youth is passed and the greed still persists ;
We become old but not our desires.
