sarmad gila iKHtiyar mi-bayad kard
'sarmad' gila iḳhtiyār mī-bāyad kard
yak kaar az iiñ do kaar mī-bāyad kard
yā tan ba-razā-e-dost mī-bāyad daad
yā jaan ba-rahash nisār mī-bāyad kard
O Sarmad, be wise to cut short your complaints
And do one thing out of these two :
Either surrender your body to the will of God
Or sacrifice your soul on the path of His.
