sarmad ma ra ba-ishq ruswa kardand
'sarmad' mā rā ba-'ishq rusvā kardand
sarmast-o-sarāsīma-o-shaida kardand
’uryānī-e-tan buud ġhubār-e-rah-e-dost
aañ niiz ba-teġh az sar-e-mā vā kardand
O Sarmad, by granting love, they put me into disrepute.
And made me intoxicated, perplexed and mad.
My naked body was dust on the love's path.
That too has been cut from my body with a sword-blow.
