sultan-e-kHudam minnat-e-sultan na-kasham
sultān-e-kHudam minnat-e-sultāñ na-kasham
az bahr-e-do naan minnat-e-dūnāñ na-kasham
nafs-e-man sag ast-o-man sag-bānam
az bahr sage minnat-e-sag-bāñ na-kasham
I'm king in myself and under no other king’s obligations ;
And for a couple of breads I never look to mean fellows ;
My ‘self’ is a dog and I am a dogherd ;
And for a dog I am not obliged to other dogherds.
