ta baz shanaKHtam man in pae ze-dast
tā baaz shanāḳhtam man iiñ paa.e ze-dast
iiñ charḳh-e-faromāya marā dast ba-bast
afsos ki dar hisāb ḳhvāhand nihād
umre ki marā be-mai-o-ma.ashūqa guzasht
Before I could know (recognize) the luck in my hands, the sky withdrew it from me, the pity of it is that the days I spent without wine and the loved one, will (cruelly) be taken into account towards my age.
