di kuza-gari ba-didam andar bazar

Omar Khayyam

kūza-garī ba-dīdam andar bāzār

bar paara gil-e-hamī lakad zad bisyār

vaañ gil ba-zabān-e-hāl uu guft

man ham chuuñ būda-am marā neko daar

Yesterday I saw a potter in the market, kneading some clay under his feet with unusual force; and the clay spoke to the potter in this expressive language once I was like you, so treat me gently.

di kuza-gari ba-didam andar bazar

bar para gil-e-hami lakad zad bisyar

wan gil ba-zaban-e-haal ba u mi guft

man hum chun tu buda-am mara neko dar

Yesterday I saw a potter in the market, kneading some clay under his feet with unusual force; and the clay spoke to the potter in this expressive language once I was like you, so treat me gently.
