dil-e-ḳhasta turā dar āshnā.ī na kunad
paivasta dar āġhosh-o-kanārat gīrad
hargiz za tū yak gaam judā.ī na kunad
Choose one as a friend who might not betray you.
And might not disturb you in course of friendship !
Who might keep company with you all the time,
And should not get away even for a step.
