zahid tu ba-KHur baada ki bisyar nikust
zāhid tu ba-ḳhūr baada ki bisyār nikūst
az ḳhirqa ba-kun kanār sad fitna darūst
be-shub.h halāl ast ba-goī tu harām
kaifiyat iiñ har ki ba-yāyad hama uust
Give up asceticism, it’s source of all evils :
Drink wine, O ascetic, it’s so sweet:
Surely it’s lawful and not at all forbidden,
And its effect is 'All is He’.
