Hazrat Umar was the second caliph of Islam. He was extremely just. Once, his beloved son drank alcohol. When he found out, he imposed the same punishment of eighty (80) lashes on his son as he would on any other alcoholic. He himself began to whip his son, who started shedding tears, but not a single tear fell from his father's eyes. As the last lash was delivered, his son breathed his last. Hazrat Umar's commitment to impartial justice earned him great respect and admiration.
