Anushirvān was a just and august ruler of Iran, and he established his capital in Baghdad. He was known for his sense of justice and fairness. Buzurgmehr was his vizier. The ruins of Anushirvan's palace, known as the Tāq-e Kisra, still exist in modern-day Mesopotamia and are referred to as the Kisra’s Arch.

It is said that during the construction of this palace, there was a small piece of land with a dilapidated hut in one corner. The king wanted to buy this piece of land to ensure that the palace would not be crōked, but the old woman who lived there rejected his offer. When officials tried to forcefully take the land, Anushirvan stopped them, stating that it would be unjust, and he wouldn't allow it. He remarked that even if his palace turned out to be crōked, he wouldn't mind.
