Syed Muzaffar Ali Shah was the son of Hazrat Syed Amjad Ali Shah and was the caliph of Sheikh Nizamuddin Hussain Ibn Hazrat Shah Niaz of Barelvi. He was born on 21st Jamadi-ul-Awwal 1228 AH in Agra. He adopted the pen name 'Ilahi'. He was deeply devoted to Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and Syedna Ameer Abulola. He passed away in 9 Rabi-ul-Awwal 1299 AH after teaching and inculcating the path of truth in Agra. His shrine is located in the courtyard of Madrasa Panja, Agra. A huge book in Sufism which consists of three volumes entitled "Jawahar-e-Ghaibi" is the best memorial of his literary accomplishments, published by Novel Kishore Lucknow Press.
