gham-e-ulfat ko bhi mahbub-e-jaan kahna hi paDta hai
ġham-e-ulfat ko bhī mahbūb-e-jāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
bisāt-e-dāġh dil ko gulistāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
kisī be-mehr ko jab mehrbāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
to dil kā qatl hai aur al-amāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
nigāh-e-yār tuune raaz dil ke kah diye kyā kyā
tirī chashmak ko andāz-e-bayāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
savāl-e-dost par andesha-e-tarke-mohabbat se
nahīñ kahne kī hālat meñ bhī haañ kahnā hai paḌtā hai
mirī taqdīr tujh par munhasir Thahrī to phir tujh ko
ḳhudā ik aur zer-e-āsmāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
mohabbat maujzan hai aur umañgoñ meñ talātum hai
hamāre dil ko bahr-e-be-karāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
dayār-e-yār tak terī rasā.ī hai jo nā-mumkin
use dil terī marg-e-nā-gahāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
'asar' is arsa-gāh-e-ishq meñ dekhe tire jauhar
za.īfī meñ tujhe āḳhir javāñ kahnā hī paḌtā hai
gham-e-ulfat ko bhi mahbub-e-jaan kahna hi paDta hai
bisat-e-dagh dil ko gulistan kahna hi paDta hai
kisi be-mehr ko jab mehrban kahna hi paDta hai
to dil ka qatl hai aur al-aman kahna hi paDta hai
nigah-e-yar tune raaz dil ke kah diye kya kya
teri chashmak ko andaz-e-bayan kahna hi paDta hai
sawal-e-dost par andesha-e-tarke-mohabbat se
nahin kahne ki haalat mein bhi han kahna hai paDta hai
meri taqdir tujh par munhasir Thahri to phir tujh ko
KHuda ek aur zer-e-asman kahna hi paDta hai
mohabbat maujzan hai aur umangon mein talatum hai
hamare dil ko bahr-e-be-karan kahna hi paDta hai
dayar-e-yar tak teri rasai hai jo na-mumkin
use dil teri marg-e-na-gahan kahna hi paDta hai
'asar' is arsa-gah-e-ishq mein dekhe tere jauhar
zaifi mein tujhe aaKHir jawan kahna hi paDta hai
