ta’zim-e-na’t-e-mustafa alaihissalam ki mazkur buwad dar injil
tā'zīm-e-nā't-e-mustafā 'alaihissalām ki mazkūr buvad dar injīl
How honour was paid to the description of Mustafá (Mohammed),
on whom be peace, which was mentioned in the Gospel.
buud dar injīl nām-e-mustafā
aañ sar-e-paiġhambarāñ bahr-e-safā
The name of Mustafá was in the Gospel—
(Mustafá) the chief of the prophets, the sea of purity.
buud zikr-e-hulya-hā-o-shakl-e-ū
buud zikr-e-ġhazv-o-saum-o-akl-e-ū
There was mention of his (external) characteristics and appearance;
there was mention of his warring and fasting and eating.
tā.ifa-e-nasrāniyāñ bahr-e-savāb
chuuñ rasīdande badāñ nām-o-kHitāb
A party among the Christians, for the sake of the Divine reward,
whenever (in reading the Gospel) they came to that name and allocution,
bosa dādande barāñ nām-e-sharīf
rū nihā-dande badāñ vasf-e-latīf
Would bestow kisses on that noble name and stoop
their faces towards that beauteous description.
andarīñ fitna ki guftem aañ giroh
aiman az fitna budand-o-az shikoh
In this tribulation of which we have told,
that party were secure from tribulation and dread,
aiman az sharr-e-amīrān-o-vazīr
dar panāh-e-nām-e-ahmad mustajīr
Secure from the mischief of the amírs and the vizier,
seeking refuge in the protection of the Name of Ahmad (Mohammed).
nasl-e-īshāñ niiz ham bisyār shud
nūr-e-ahmad nāsir aamad yaar shud
Their offspring also multiplied:
the Light of Ahmad aided and befriended them.
vaañ giroh-e-dīgar az nasrāniyāñ
nām-e-ahmad dāshtande mustahāñ
And the other party among the Christians
(who) were holding the Name of Ahmad in contempt,
mustahān-o-kHvār gashtand az fitan
az vazīr-e-shūm rā-e-shūm fan
They became contemptible and despised through
dissensions caused by the evil counselling and evil-plotting vizier;
ham mukHbbat dīn-e-shā-o-hukm-e-shāñ
az pa-e-tūmār-hā-e-kazh bayāñ
Moreover, their religion and their law became corrupted
in consequence of the scrolls which set forth all perversely.
nām-e-ahmad iiñ chunīñ yaarī kunad
tā ki nūrash chuuñ nigah-dārī kunad
The Name of Ahmad gives such help as this, so that
(one may judge) how his Light keeps guard (over his followers).
nām-e-ahmad chuuñ hisāre shud hasīñ
tā che bāshad zāt-e-āñ rūhul-'ālamīñ
Since the Name of Ahmad became (to the Christians) an impregnable fortress,
what then must be the Essence of that trusted Spirit?
