"Champa was a Hindu girl. After falling in love with Sheikh Shah Muhammad, she went with him and became a Muslim by marrying him. She was already a Hindi poetess. The Sheikh's acquaintance worked like icing on the cake. Eventually, in Hindi poetry, she also took precedence over the Sheikh.
