Profile of Govind Swami
A disciple of Vitthaldas and a poet of Ashtachap, Govind Swami was born in the village of Antari in the princely state of Bharatpur. After being initiated into the Vallabh sect, he started living in Govardhan. He was extremely well learned and trained in music and poetry. Tansen also respected his musical art. A collection of 262 verses of his is published.
