میں تقریباً سترہ سال اپنے شیخ کی صحبت میں رہا اور اپنی نسبت بہت کچھ گمان رکھتا تھا مگر جب وہ گذر گئے تب معلوم ہوا کہ ابھی بہت سے ایسے کام کرنے باقی ہیں جو ان کے سامنے ہی کرنے تھے مگر جو پیر پرستی میں نے کی ویسی جیسی چاہیے تھی، اس کے سبب پیر مجھ سے غائب نہیں ہیں بلکہ ہر وقت میری تربیت کے لیے موجود ہیں، یہ میرا بیان محض علم سے نہیں ہے بلکہ میرا مشاہدہ و معائنہ ہے۔
سخت ضرورت کے وقت مثلاً مہمان کے آنے، حقوق ادا کرنے یا صلہ رحمی کے لیے یا غایت گرسنگی کی حالت میں قرض لے سکتا ہے لیکن قرض ادا کرنے کی کوشش میں لگا رہے۔
جب دل کا آئینہ طبیعت کے زنگ اور بشریت کے اندھیروں سے پاک و صاف ہوتا ہے تو اس میں انوارِ غیبی قبول کرنے کی صلاحیت پیدا ہو جاتی ہے۔

بیماری کے دوران جہاں تک ہوسکے کوئی ورد و وظیفہ ناغہ نہ کرے، آب و طعام ترک کرنے کے لیے بیماری اچھا بہانہ ہے، اگر بخار چڑھے تو آنکھیں بند کر کے مراقبہ میں مشغول ہو جائے تو نہایت ذوق حاصل ہوگا، بہت لوگ بخار کو نہایت پسند کرتے ہیں، صحابۂ کرام نے بھی اس کی بڑی چاہت کی ہے کیوں کہ حضور ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ ایک روز کا بخار ایک سال کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہے یعنی ایک شب کا بخار جو فکر و مراقبہ کے ساتھ ہو، ایک سال کی ظلمت و کدورت دل سے دور کرتا ہے۔
جو شخص اشارۃً یا صراحتاً اپنے پیر کی توہین کرے، مرید کو چاہیے کہ اس سے بالکل بیزار ہو جائے اور ایسی نفرت رکھے جیسے زاہد شیطان سے نفرت کرتا ہے اگر اس کی طرف ذرا بھی میلان کرے گا تو بے غیرت کہلائے گا اور نسبتِ صدق سے محروم رہے گا۔
محمد حسینی اپنے پیر پر ایسا مبتلا تھا کہ اگر وہ کیفیت تم سے بیان کرے تو تم سن نہ سکو گے۔
تصور شیخ کی ترکیب یہ ہے کہ اپنے آپ کو شیخ کے روبرو ان کی مجلس میں حاضر تصور کرے یا اپنے دل میں شیخ کا خیال جمائے یا اپنے آپ کو ہمہ تن شیخ سمجھے، یہ کام خاص نیک بختوں کا ہے، یہ نہ مراقبہ ہے نہ مشاہدہ نہ مکاشفہ بلکہ یہ معائنہ ہے۔
سالک کے لیے دو کام ضروری ہیں: ایک تخلیہ یعنی ماسوا اللہ سے دل کا خالی کرنا، دوسرے تجلیہ یعنی انوارِ الٰہی سے دل کو روشن کرنا، اصل کار تخلیہ ہے، سالک اس کو مقدم سمجھے، جب تخلیہ قائم ہوا پھر تجلیہ خود ثابت ہو جاتا ہے کیوں کہ ان دونوں میں پوری ملازمت ہے۔
مرید پیر پرست ہونا چاہیے، اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ پیر جو انوارِ لاہوتی کا مظہر ہے تو یہ اس کی پرستش نہیں ہے بلکہ حق کی پرستش ہے۔
سالک کو لازم ہے کہ
اپنے اور دوسروں کے تمام حقوق ادا کرے، اس میں مطلق ریا اور غصہ نہ ہو، وہ کسی دوسرے کے خیر و شر سے واسطہ نہ رکھے، اس کے دل میں جتنی ہوس ہو اس کو دور کرے، اگر دور نہ ہو تو مجاہدہ اور ریاضت کرتا ہے۔
اگر شیخ اپنے مرید کو کسی خاص کام کا حکم دے تو اسے بڑی رحمت تصور کرے، رفتار، گفتار اور دستار میں اپنے پیر کا اتباع بہتر جانے اور اکثر پیر کا نام وردِ زبان رکھے، پیر کے تصور کے لیے کوئی وقت معین نہ کرے بلکہ ایک لحظہ بھی اس کے تصور سے خالی نہ رہے۔
سالک کے نزدیک حجرہ کا گوشہ اور بازار یکساں ہونا چاہیے یعنی یادِ حق میں دونوں جگہ برابر مشغول رہیں، عاشقانِ مجاز ہر وقت اور ہر جگہ خیالِ معشوق میں متفرق رہتے ہیں اور افسوس ہے کہ عاشقانِ حقیقت غافل رہیں۔
