Profile of Mian Muhammad Bakhsh
Miyan Muhammad Bakhsh was born in Chak Thakra, a village of Khari in 1839. His father’s name was Shamsuddin Qadri and his grandfather was Miyan Din Muhammad Qadri, whose lineage went back to Hazrat Omar Farooq. His family belonged to the Turks who had migrated from Gujarat and settled in Mirpur. His initial education took place under the tutelage of Ghulam Hussain. He traveled to great lengths to seek blessings from various spiritual guides. He even made to the forests of Kashmir and took blessings from Sheikh Ahmad Wali Kashmiri. He remained unmarried all his life. He died in 1904 in his native Khari Sharif and there is a shrine there. His work Saif al-Muluk is among the most celebrated of all.
