Syed Mubarak Ali Mubarak Bilgrami was born in 1583. He was fluent in Arabic, Persian, and Sanskrit languages. Among his many works in verse, two collections of Hindi poetry "Alak Shatak" and "Til Shatak" have been published. Mubarak Bilgrami 's Hindi poems show that he was a master poet of Hindi. There are 100 couplets about Zulf in Alak Shatak and 100 couplets about Khaal in Til Shatak. In both of them, there are such wonderful examples of similes and thematizing that the reader is overwhelmed and a praise seems inevitable. The combination of Arabic and Persian metaphors with Hindi metaphors is very intricate and subtle. His thoughts are too lofty and there's not a hint of banality.
