A resident of Godhra and a contemporary of Muhammad Amin Gujarati, he wrote under the pen-name Fath. He wrote his Masnavi 'Yusuf Zulekha' in AD 1693. When Fatah expressed his desire to write this Masnavi in front of his friends, Muhammad Amin Gujarati asked him to write something different, since he had already written a Masnavi of the same name.
