Shamshad Lakhnavi's real name was Muhammad Abdul Ahad. He was born around 1850. He was trained in poetry by Aasi Ghazipuri. Shamshad Lakhnavi was prominent as a religious scholar in Lucknow and Ghazipur. He was also a Sahib-e-Diwan poet. His poems are very impactful and eloquent.
