Profile of Sheikh Muhammad Sahi
A 16th-century Sufi poet. Belonging to the times of Akbar, he was among the most credible persons of the emperor. His father's name was Sheikh Maroof and he was associated with Farmeli Sheikhs of Hardoi in Bilgram district. According to Mir Azad's, ‘Sarv-e-Azad’, he was a master of Hindi poetry and was considered among the best poets of his era. He used to write with the surname 'Sahi'. One of his texts is 'Shringar Shakta', and he composed around 1530 AD to 1540 AD.
