Profile of Wajdi
An inhabitant of Kurnul, Sheikh Wajihuddin 'Vajdi' was a poet who lived during the last days of Aurangzeb. He wrote 3 Masnavis- Tuhfa-e-Ashiqa (1703), Bagh-e-Ja-Faizan (1732), and Panchinama or Panchivacha (1732). The first and third among these are translations of Attar’s Persian works. Wajdi also has a Diwan to his credit.
