A prominent poet and scholar of Lucknow, a disciple of Dagh and Natiq Gulawathhi, known for his annotations of Ghalib and Hafiz, and editing the works of the earliest women poets of Urdu

One of the prominent later classical Delhi poets. Desciple of Dagh Dehlavi.

A contemporary of Dagh Dehlavi. Famous for his ghazal 'Sarkati Jae Hai Rukh Se Naqab Ahista Ahista'.

First Poet of Rekhta/Hindvi. Musician and Disciple of Sufi Saint Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia. Known for his "pahelis", which form part of Indian folklore. He is famous for inventing two most important musical instruments tabla & sitar. Wrote "Ze-hal-e-miskin…" one of the earliest prototypes of Urdu ghazal written in Persian & Hindvi.

Beloved disciple of Nizamuddin Auliya and clelebrated Sufi poet of Persian and Urdu. Also highly skilled in music, famous as Tuti-e-Hind.

Well-known poet and essayist, edited literary journal Nadeem, a class fellow of Syed Sulaiman Nadvi
