ta chand dar andesha-e-duniya bashi
tā chand dar andesha-e-duniyā bāshī
āvāra-e-dasht-o-koh-o-sahra bāshī
dāmān-e-qanā'at ast bisyār vasī’
az dast ma-deh dar iiñ jahān tā bāshī
How long will you long for the ( pleasures of the ) world ?
And will wander about in jungles, hills and deserts ?
The skirt of contentment is pretty large,
Give it not away from hand as long as you live !
