سانس سینے میں خار جیسا تھا
سانس سینے میں خار جیسا تھا
ان کہی کا غبار ایسا تھا
حافظے نے کیا کرم اتنا
اب نہیں یاد یار کیسا تھا
ساتھ چل کے بھی ہم رکاب نہ تھا
وہ کسی رہ گذار جیسا تھا
باندھا آنچل سے رخت غم قصداً
دل بے اختیار ایسا تھا
مٹ گیا امتیاز باطل و حق
عزتوں کا معیار پیسہ تھا
آدمیت ہی ہو گئی رخصت
نشۂ اقتدار ایسا تھا
