man saiad-e-kas na gardam shahbāz-e-lā-makānam
'anqā-e-qāf hastam matlab za-āshiyānam
I will not be anyone's prey, I am a falcon soaring in the skies. I am the Simorgh mystical bird of the Qaf mountain, I have meaning from my own nest.
gah bāz-o-gah tadarrum andar fazā-e-'ishqash
parvāna rūnumāyam gah īñ-o-gāh aanam
I am sometimes a falcon, sometimes a wandering bird (a beautiful bird) in the realm of love. I am like a moth, sometimes I am this, sometimes I am that (meaning, I soar in love sometimes, I flutter sometimes).
'ahmad' vujūd-e-ḳhud rā na shanāsad-o-na-dānad
paidāst āftāb-o-man zarra-sān aanam
Ahmed does not recognize nor know the reality of his existence. The sun is evident, and I am like a particle, owned by it.
